Turn Blogs To Cash asked:

While no one knows exactly what the formula for search engine rankings is, we do know that it has a lot to do with how many “votes” you have out there on the web. These votes are counted as backlinks. If you think about it, what do you when you find something you really like and want to share with others? You link to it! That’s why the search engines count these so highly. While you should definitely aim to get to the point where others will link to you, it’s possible to take things into your own hands for now.

Below are some of the top strategies you can use for building backlinks to increase the value of your blog in the eyes of the search engine.

Write Articles and Submit Them

Writing and submitting articles is a great way to build backlinks! There are sites out there like EzineArticles.com and GoArticles.com that allow you to post your content with a link back to your site. That means you get to have your link on authority sites! The more articles you write, the more you can submit them. The beauty of this is that you can often submit the same articles to different sites, or rewrite them quickly to have something that is more unique.

Comment on Other People’s Blogs

It’s a great thing to remember that a huge part of blogging is getting involved in the community. Commenting on other people’s blogs will not only get you some recognition from their readers right away, it also counts as a backlink! Keep in might that some of these links are termed as “nofollow”, which means the search engines may not pass along ranking or “juice.” That’s okay, because the algorithms are always changing, and since these links are so highly targeted they are a great thing.

Write Guest Posts

Writing guest posts for other niche blogs is an amazing strategy. People love to let you do this because it gives them a day off from blogging. Readers love it because they get a fresh perspective on a topic they are interested in. You’ll love it because it means you get a link back to your site and all you had to do was write an extra post for the day.

Use Social Bookmarking Sites

Another thing you can do is bookmark your sites. Now, there are some rumblings out there that these won’t count as highly in the future as they do now. Still, bookmarking your sites lets the search engines know “you are there” for fast indexing. If you take the time to make sure the sites you bookmark with are high quality, you’ll get the benefit of those links as well.

Paying for Links

There are many different ways you can pay for links. It is important to know that Google and other search engines frown on this because it’s like you’re gaming their algorithm. Whether you choose to do this or not is up to you, but it can be an effective strategy if you don’t go overboard and aren’t obvious. You can contact people directly or even work through link exchange networks.

Learning how to build backlinks to your blog is extremely important if you want to rank well. Add a few links at a time and they will build up in a massive way over the long run.

The modern world of internet and online commercialism has lead to the developments of many new ways of earning money. This is the world of change and with every passing minute, the dynamics of the business and money generation are changing. You need to keep track of all the required things to make your mark in the current online world of commercialism and finance.

Many people are only aware of terms such as online marketing or online business. However, one of the most modern ways to earn a huge amount of linear and residual income is by developing your very own virtual real estate. In many parts of the world, it is known as VRE.

This is one the newest forms of making money on the internet and can be used effectively for making money in a very short span of time. We shall give you a brief introduction of virtual real estate and how your own website is the key to making money online. We are sure that after reading this write up, the first thing that you will do is to call a website developer for your very own website.

Virtual real estate is a new term and can be defined when compared with the real estate of the real world. In real state of the physical world, we buy land or houses and then sell them for a profit in the future. In virtual real estate we make websites and domain names and then sell them later for much bigger price tag.

You may be wondering where all the money would come from. Well, like in the real world, you have to be very careful in choosing the right kind of websites and domain names. We will explain the importance of having a quality website for earning money on the internet.

The first thing you need to do in order to build a website is to add quality to the site. Once you have built your own website, the next step is to include the marketing aspect of your website. You can buy a number of domain names and then market them on your own website. In addition to this, you can build more websites and then add their links on the major website. This can lead to a lot of traffic on your website which in turn means heavy amount of residual income.

You also need to have a look at the idea behind choosing and buying a particular domain name. You should buy the domain name keeping in view the fact that it is catchy, salable and can give a high return on the value. The domain names should be short, meaningful, and most of all they should have a marketing factor attached with them.

Once you start getting traffic on your websites, you will see the effect of residual income on your business. You will have to keep an eye on the content of your websites and, therefore, will have to update it frequently. All in all, you are all set to build your own virtual real estate.

If you are interested in making long term, residual income you need to have your own site. If you would like to get your own custom built website, visit our virtual real estate development site for details on how to get started.

Jerry Lawson asked:

Blogs are much like people; they each have their own individual personality and style. This makes it nearly impossible to refer to a single model of success that all bloggers should follow, but there are several recommendations that are considered a fundamental part of creating a successful blog.

The first step is finding your individual niche. Most blogs relate to a central theme, whether that is parenting, working from home, or gardening. Focusing on one general topic or issue allows you to target a particular audience with your writing, helps the search engines to rank your blog, and can also help you establish a reader base with an interest in your content.

The overall appearance of your blog is just as important as the theme. The style, colors, and design of your blog should reflect the type of information you provide. Remember, your visitors’ first impressions of you will be a result of the look you have selected and will often determine if a guest will read your content or simply click away. A well designed layout will turn visitors into readers.

It is also important that you make it easy for visitors to find the information they are looking for. Many people will find your blog while searching for a particular subject. There are several different tools you can use to help these visitors find other relevant content and continue to browse your site.

- Use an easy to understand category system to archive past posts so readers can find the topics they are looking for.

- Include links to related posts within each of your posts.

- Showcase your most popular posts in the sidebar for easy access.

- A search box that allows readers to search your blog will also be useful.

Once you have established your niche audience and decided on the best presentation, it is time to pay attention to your content. The best blogs are typically those written in a comfortable, personal tone with reliable information, then seasoned with your own thoughts and opinions. It is important to develop a single style that is displayed throughout your blog in every post to build trust from your readers. Take advantage of spell checkers and use proper grammar to enhance your credibility as a blogger.

A major appeal of blogs over traditional websites is the ability to always find fresh, new content. Your readers and the search engines both appreciate regular updates and new posts, making fresh, quality content a vital part of your success. Commit at least two to three days a week to writing new blog posts and strive to write on a daily basis. Return visitors who continually find interesting material on your site will soon turn into regular readers.

Building a successful blog takes time and will not happen overnight. Implementing these suggestions will steadily increase your search rankings, as well as your traffic, and you will soon have a profitable, worthwhile blog with a growing base of loyal readers.

Shawn Lim asked:

For almost a year I’ve been in blogging, and what I have learned from blogging and internet marketing is something that I’m not going to learn in school or in university. We all know that if we want to create a successful blog, we will need to attract a huge number of visitors to our blog everyday. However, many people did not understand that even if they have the traffic, but without something that can attract their visitors to stay, their visitors will actually leave and never come back.

That is why I decide to write this article, I’m going to tell you how you can make your visitors actually visit your blog, and stay for a long time. To do this, you must first understand one thing, why people actually visit your blog? There must be a reason, and that reason will be your content. The information that you provide to your visitors in your blog is the reason that people visit your blog. So we have to start from your blog’s content.

I believe that you’ve heard about this, “content is king”. Yes, content is just like the heart of your blog, without content, your blog will be just an empty shell. Many people did not know how to create valuable content that their visitors are looking for. Here I’m going to tell you how you can create solid content if you want to build a solid blog. For beginner, there are a few ways you can create solid content for your visitors and the first and the easiest way is by writing solid content.

Well, a solid post is something that your visitors are looking for. These solid content are going to become the foundation of your blog, they will act as the core content of your blog. Here are some examples of solid content, “How to…”, “3 Steps to…” and “5 Questions to ask before…” these are the learning-type posts that you can publish as your solid content. The other type is definitive type like “What is…” There is also list-type of articles that you can use, such as “10 Ways to…”and “8 Tips to…” It has been proven that these kinds of articles are what visitors are looking for.

Next, you can also create something free as gift-away for your visitors. Create something like a free report and gift it for people who visit your blog. By doing so, you are going to leverage on viral marketing, but you must make sure that your free gift is something that valuable and truly helps people to solve their problems. You will cover the widest possible audience and expose your blog this way.

There you have it, once you have enough solid content in your blog, people who visit your blog will actually stay and come back for more. This is the first step that you should concentrate in when you start building your blog.

Seomul Evans asked:

Technorati recently completed its 2008 State of the Blogosphere report, which contains some interesting information about the correlation between blogs and brand building. The report shows that bloggers are interested in talking about brands. So if you’re looking for ways to build your brand, make friends with some bloggers!

Blogging is, at its heart, a place for people to share information about themselves and about their lives. If people have good experiences, they blog about them. If they have bad experiences, they blog about those, too. This includes experiences with businesses both online and in real life. If bloggers encounter a product or service that they find phenomenal, they will blog about it. Same goes for products or services that they find abysmal. In fact, nearly 80 percent of bloggers talk about brands and/or products that they love or hate, and 37 percent of them do so on a frequent basis. Many businesses have taken advantage of this publicity. In fact, one-third of all bloggers have been asked to act as brand advocates.

This may seem silly given that anyone can maintain a blog. Why should internet users trust a blog over any other source of information? Why are bloggers any more credible that anyone else? The truth is that bloggers primarily look to blogs for information rather than to other sources. In fact, 49 percent of bloggers believe that blogs are just as reliable as mainstream media for getting information.

The point here is that blogs are a great resource to explore when you are trying to build your brand. Here are 5 things to keep in mind regarding blogs and brand-building.

1. Blogs are Credible. Some marketers are concerned about the possibility of having their brand show up on a blog because they are afraid that the blog might not be credible. Rest assured that, although they are often informal, blogs are often seen as legitimate sources of good information. In fact, many large corporations include blog-mentions among the press included on their websites.

2. Blog Discussions are Natural. If a brand or product makes an impact on a blogger, he or she will probably mention it on a blog. Some companies even ask bloggers to review products and introduce new products. Many bloggers already include ads on their blogs, so they will probably be happy to include information about your product or service as well, given that they find it worth mentioning.

3. Bloggers are Bright. As a whole, bloggers are both educated and affluent. In fact, 75% of bloggers also graduated from college and 42% have attended at least some graduate school. More than half of them are part of a household than brings in over $75,000. These are good people to know from a marketing standpoint. They’re savvy and they have a lot of money to spend. These are people you want on your team.

4. Bloggers Read Other Blogs. Bloggers get most of their information from other bloggers; so if you want to get noticed, you need to make sure that you become visible on a blog. Keep in mind that, not only do bloggers read other blogs regularly, bloggers also use blogs as their primary source of information about brands and products. This is obviously a great way to make yourself visible and to attract the attention of potential customers.

5. Your Competitors are Doing It! Since so many companies are already asking bloggers to act as brand advocates, chances are that your competitors are already among those taking advantage of blogs as brand builders. Do yourself a favor and start using blogs to build your brand or you could find yourself out in the cold!

If your image of a blogger is a pimply-faced teenager sitting in his basement writing about his latest conspiracy theory, you need to update your perceptions. Bloggers are a bright group who look to each for information. Use them in your brand-building efforts and you’ll see results!

Turn Blogs To Cash asked:

One of the main differences between a blog and a static website is the way people are able to interact with your content. With a static site it’s just people reading words on a page. When you have a blog they can explore and even comment back! You want to get that sort of interactive spirit going so you can create a loyal readership with your blog.

That doesn’t mean it’s easy! There are literally millions of blogs out there all vying for the attention of your audience. It can be even harder to grab people’s attention when you’re just getting started. The bad news is that it’s going to take some work and dedication to build up a loyal readership. The good news is that it’s very possible, and even fun, to put these things into place. Follow these rules and you’ll have the kind of repeat visitors and fans that really make blogging worth your while.

Rule #1: Write Great Content

Let’s face it; if your content stinks there is no way people are going to come back and read again! They’ll just click away, never to return. If you write great content, however, you’re sure to get some fans. Not everyone considers themselves to be a good writer. That’s OK! No one expects you to have perfect grammar and spelling. It’s far more important that you write interesting content that stands out from the crowd. Give your real thoughts and opinions on things that matter to the audience.

When you write great content, not only will you have people who want to visit your blog all the time. They will also link to you! You know that more linking means higher rankings in Google. That’s definitely a great thing that will expand your readership base to levels you couldn’t even imagine when you got started.

Rule #2: Leave the Comments Open

It’s amazing — but there are bloggers out there who close their comments! While it can be a lot of work to try and get rid of those spam comments, you’re also missing out on a big part of what being a blogger is all about. You need to let the audience write back and speak their mind too. People don’t just want a website they can read anymore, they want one they can add their “2 cents” to. So, leave your comments open and listen to them. It doesn’t matter if people always agree with you or not (they won’t!), you’ll get a much larger and interested following.

Rule #3: Guest Blog

The chances are good that there are some blogs out there that are very well-liked by the people in your niche. These blogs probably get a lot of traffic and a lot of respect. It’s time to get your name and website out there in front of this audience! All you need to do is write to the owner and say that you’d like to write some guest posts. They will probably be more than happy to take a break from their own posting and to give you a link back to your blog. This will not only give you link juice for the search engines, you’ll also win some of their loyal readers who are interested in what you have to say.

Learning how to create a loyal readership with your blog is incredibly important if you want your blog to thrive. It’s all about the people, and making sure they are aware of your blog and love your content.

The volume of online business is growing at an unprecedented rate. This is a result of the rapid changes being observed in the global business model. The number of people entering into the online arena is increasing daily. Some people are coming online because they want to earn a secondary income. Many people are coming online to find a way to make money because they can’t find a job in the marketplace. The online marketplace is huge, and is growing daily.

If you want to get a piece of this huge opportunity, you need to have an online presence. You can use a replicated website provided by a company, or you can have your own. I am a very big proponent of having your own sites for several key reasons.

There are a number of ways to do this but over the years it has been established that having your own website is the best way to go. You own the asset and have control over it. You can display the information you want to share and you can change it when you want. You are in control of your own destiny here.

A major reason to have a personal website is the fact that we need to market ourselves on the internet. When we arrange a “borrowed” resource for our marketing material, we are always limiting ourselves. These limitations are in a number of areas. First of all, we are limited on the amount of content we can publish on the “borrowed” resource.

This seriously hampers our efforts to get into a practice of extensive marketing. When you are working on a “borrowed” or free hosting setup, you do not have total control on the amount and location of your content. Many free hosting websites control the content quantity as well as the type of content you can publish. This is not good when you are trying to brand yourself and get the word out about your products and services.

After all, a website of another company is there to serve the purpose of that company. The facts points strongly to this simple fact. You need to have your own website. The sooner you realize this and take action on it, the more profitable your business will be.

A personal website is required in real estate, personal training and coaching, and many other business ventures. Having your own site is critical in any business where your customers need to”know you, like you and trust you”. With the current state of the economy and the general paranoia and skepticism that is rampant in the world today, it just makes sense for you to have your own personal site to “stand out in the crowd” and let people know you are a real, approachable person.

TJ Philpott asked:

Are you serious about building a popular blog? Want your site to stand out from all the rest? There are numerous ways in which we can structure our blog for the search engines, and endless options we can select to advertise products or services. What we need to concern ourselves with is FIRST getting visitors to our blog site and then getting them to keep returning.

With all the courses offered on how to deal with the technical aspects of blogging we often times overlook the 3 distinct areas that help create and sustain popular blogs: the right niche, good content, and uniqueness.

Let’s examine these 3 areas to better understand their importance in establishing the foundation for a successful Blog.

1. Niche Selection

This is the starting point for any blog. Selecting your topic on which you are to blog about is crucial being if there isn’t enough interest in the subject to begin with you can assume your blogging success will be minimal at best.

Research is an area where you can’t necessarily spend too much time. The probability of your blogging success will be based upon how accurate your research is. Determining the popularity of your subject is crucial. Selecting an overly popular subject will increase your competition which means working harder for smaller profits. Ideally you want to focus on a subject that has a good demand (around 75,000 per month on Google) and preferably a subject you have an interest in since this will make your work seem more like fun and less like work.

2. Maintaining Quality Content

Once you have your blog up and running you should be utilizing various methods to attract visitors. Here is where you want to make your visitors appreciate your blog site. Posting good quality content regularly will pay you dividends from a higher rate of readers returning to your blog. Your content should be useful, entertaining, or interesting for your readers.

Soon your site will benefit from additional traffic due to referrals from your current subscribers. This increase in traffic will in turn be noticed by the search engines who’ll reward your blog with a higher ranking in the results when people are looking for information related to your niche.

3. Uniqueness

In a word this is what will make your blog stand out from the others. Your uniqueness in tone, presentation, humor, color schemes, or possibly layout will identify your blogging platform as distinctly you. The use of audio, video, pictures, or perhaps caricatures will lend more distinction to your blog site. Don’t be afraid to let your personality show. You have a global audience at your fingertips, take advantage of it.

In building a popular blog we always need to keep in mind the more human aspects of blogging itself. Don’t get so caught up in the technical aspects that you lose sight of this. Remember we’re writing to inform, entertain, or appeal to flesh and blood readers and not machines.
